News: ‘Alien: Covenant’ Gets Official Synopsis and Release Date!

0

Alien: Covenant has been announced as the new title for Ridley Scott’s Prometheus follow-up. Previously it was announced as Alien: Paradise Lost, and the synopsis just released by 20th century fox makes it easy to understand what that title had to do with the new film.

Here’s the official synopsis released by 20th Century Fox:

Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created in ‘Alien’ with ‘Alien: Covenant’, the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with ‘Prometheus’ — and connects directly to Scott’s 1979 seminal work of science fiction. Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.

So we know Michael Fassbender is back as David, but there’s no mention of Noomi Rapace returning. That doesn’t mean she’s not in the film, but there hasn’t been any official news on the return of her character and this film is set to follow a new group of crew members.

One more piece of info that is concrete, is that Alien: Covenant is set to release on October 6th, 2017.
