Trailer: Schwarzenegger Has A Zombie Daughter Named ‘Maggie’

When you hear news of a Schwarzenegger zombie film, you probably expect a lot more shooting than what’s going on in ‘Maggie’.

Still, Schwarzenegger commands the screen in ever shot of this trailer that he makes an appearance in and I’m enjoying old Schwarzenegger a lot more than I expected I would. It’s great to see him dipping his hands in so many projects from Jee Woo-Kim’s ‘The Last Stand’ to ‘Maggie’ as well as putting his shades back on for the new ‘Terminator’ film. Arnold just seems to be out there doing his thing, and he’s always a fun actor to watch.

‘Maggie’ was set to premiere at the 2014 Toronto Film Festival, but after Lionsgate picked up distribution rights they pulled it from the schedule. It’s now set to premiere at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival with a wide release happening in May. Although I like what I see in this trailer, it did make me cringe a little to see that ‘Maggie’ is rated PG-13. At least they’re leaning more on the drama side than something like the action heavy ‘World War Z’ that also aimed for a PG-13 rating.

Here’s the synopsis:

A teenage girl in the Midwest becomes infected by an outbreak of a disease that slowly turns the infected into cannibalistic zombies. During her transformation, her loving father stays by her side.

‘Maggie’ is directed by Henry Hobson and also stars Abigail Breslin as Schwarzenegger’s daughter.

It’s release date is set for May 22, 2015.
