The Nightmare’ (2015) Directed by: Rodney Ascher

Welcome to the Scariest Place on Earth

In this video, I provide a quick review of the 2015 sleep paralysis documentary The Nightmare. This is the newest movie from director Rodney Ascher, who previously made the documentary Room 237 which was about Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining. This movie documents the experiences of a number of individuals who experience sleep paralysis and even recreates some of their scariest experiences. This movie is currently available through video on demand services such as iTunes and Amazon Instant Video if you want to watch it for yourself.

A number of reviewers have been saying that this is one of the scariest documentaries in years, and that it’s the best documentary about sleep paralysis yet. As someone who experiences sleep paralysis from time to time, or for a general audience that has never experienced the phenomena, do those claims hold up? Is the new movie from Rodney Ascher worth checking out? Watch the video to find out!
