If you’re a fan of John Carpenter’s movies, then you are also undoubtedly a fan of his music as his soundtracks are always one of the more memorable aspects of his films. Just mention the word “Halloween” and most people will think of the theme song to Carpenter’s masterpiece of the same name. Escape From New York had one of the best soundtracks of the 1980’s and modern movies like The Guest and Drive have tried to evoke something similar to Carpenter’s work with their music. Although he isn’t releasing a new movie, he has recently made something that should please his fans.

The Horror Master, not just a nickname but also his Twitter handle, has just released a new album Lost Themes that has a number of tracks that would fit into any of his classics just fine. The album is comprised of a number of synth heavy instrumental tracks that are completely worthy of your $11. We may not get any new movies from the man, but at least we can hear what a new movie’s soundtrack could sound like. You can find it on Amazon here, or iTunes here. If you’re interested, it is even available on vinyl.
