Trailer: ‘The Editor’

0

Here’s the first trailer for the giallo-comedy The Editor from Astron-6. The film is part of Toronto’s International Film Festival’s Midnight Madness Program and is directed by Matthew Kennedy and Adam Brooks, who also star in the film. The film also stars Paz de la Huerta and a personal favorite of mine, Udo Kier.

Here’s a description of the film from their TIFF page.

A one-time (and now one-handed) master film editor toiling in the cinematic sweatshops of 1970s Italy becomes the prime suspect in a series of brutal murders, in this loving tribute to/parody of the gory giallo thrillers of Mario Bava and Dario Argento.

Here’s an excerpt from their Q&A section.

Astron-6 is the banner/brand we go by and it is no coincidence that “Astron” sounds a lot like “Vestron.” The name is meant to evoke a certain nostalgia for obscure VHS movies of the ’80s. We met at a local film festival and decided to make movies together. We all take turns writing, directing and acting. And most importantly: our movies cost nearly nothing to make. We are financed by pure, naive passion and ignorance alone.
